Airpods Max: 5 W for 5 minutes and you are quiet
For the promotion of its charging stand, a design agency checked point by point Apple promises in terms of autonomy and charging for its AirPods Max helmet.Assessment: he is actually able to hold 20 hours on battery...But also allows you to give you 1h30 listening after only 5 minutes of charging, even with the old 5 W block.

We tested and overall appreciated the AirPods Max.Apple's first wireless helmet delivers a high-flying sound experience, an effective active noise reduction system while displaying generous autonomy that we estimated at almost 24 hours in some cases, is much more than 20 hoursAnnounced by Apple.Last week, a design agency wanted to go further by publishing (for the promotion of its own charging stand) a very excavated survey practically confirming point by point most of Apple's promises concerning autonomy and recharge ofSon AirPods Max.
The opportunity to discover, for example, that the Apple helmet is satisfied with a power of 3.2 W maximum. What allow it to be recharged in good conditions by any charger. The 5W block (provided a few months ago with the Apple Watch and certain iPhones) can thus allow you, in the same way as the chargers of 12 or 18 W, more recent and powerful, to regain an hour and a half of autonomyIn just 5 minutes in the mains.
Apple right in its boots
"To test this advertisement of Apple, we loaded the AirPods Max fully emptied for exactly 5 minutes. This gave us 1 hour and 39 minutes of listening, playing the world top 100 on Apple Music at 75 % volume with one with the Active, "explains Alexander Leiminer, co-founder of the Floating Pixels agency,Study manager."Regarding the various chargers, we have not seen any difference between them, probably because the Airpods Max are only responsible for a maximum of 3.2 watts. This means that you don't have to worry about which charger you will use - almost anything will do the case, "continues the interested party later.
On autonomy itself, the agency confirms our observations."During our test, we used fully loaded Max AirPods and played in a loop on an iPhone La Playlist of the world top 100 of Apple Music. We have increased the volume to 75 % with the abolition the Active ANC.The AirPods Max held about 10 p.m. before died out and disconnect from the iPhone ".As for the discharge in stationary mode, it would be around 5 % less battery every 12 hours. An estimate that remains identical when the airpods max is stored in its smart box.

Intriguing discovery on the other hand: the display of the percentage of airpods max battery could be partly truncated."It took more than an hour to go from 100 % to 99 %, while the rest of the graph shows a more linear discharge," observes Alexander Leiminer."The same behavior can be observed at the end, when it took approximately 1 hour to go from 1 % to 99 %".It could however be that this oddity is simply due to the display method chosen by Apple and not to the behavior of the AirPods Max in itself.Difficult on the other hand to know why Apple has chosen to display the percentage of autonomy remaining in this way.
If you want to immerse yourself in deeper into the measurements made by the Floating Pixels agency, do not hesitate to consult the shared tuft report on medium.
