The young Austrian Audio brand, which made its debut in monitoring helmets, is now setting foot in the world of micro gaming and pro helmets by launching the PG16 and PB17: two wireline helmets promising performance, comfort and robustness.

Designed in the same mould, the PG16 and PB17 are very much inspired by the latest Austrian Audio headset models oriented towards nomadic listening, while retaining a very "pro" visual identity. Both models benefit from a metal arch and hinges, which in fact allow a folding of the atria for easy transport, with a relatively limited total weight of 265 g. The bearings of the arceau and circumauricular earrings take up the classic combination of memory foam of shape + similar leather. In addition, the two models take advantage of a metal arch and hinges, which also allow a folding of the atria for easy transport, with a relatively limited total weight of 265 g. A long flexible swan collar microphone is attached to the left atrium (there is no indication as to whether it is detachable or not), accompanied by a cap.

Both PG16 and PB17 are connected via a 1.4 m removable cable ending with a 3.5 mm mini-jack connector. However, the supplied adapter differs according to the model: the PG16 comes with a double mini-jack Y adapter, while the PB17 comes with a mini-jack adapter to USB-A. Small bonus exclusive to the PG16, on the other hand: a code is provided by the manufacturer to use the "Soundcar L" software suite offering a virtual surround function.

The sound claims of the two helmets are common: to offer precise, clear, immersive reproduction and extremely low distortion, all thanks to the performance of the 44 mm Xi-X (High excursion) speaker developed by Austrian Audio, which can be found on other manufacturer helmets. The published technical sound information for PG16 and PB17 is as follows:

The PG16 and PB17 enter the market at public prices of €139 and €129 respectively.
