iOS
26 comments Mickaël Bazoge| Since iOS13, many users have been scratching their heads wondering but damn it, how do I delete an app from my iPhone?? Haptic Touch gestures have indeed been confusing, since holding your finger on an app icon now displays a menu with lots of options. By continuing to hold the icon with your fingertip, you end up making the icons jiggle and the small deletion cross finally appears.
To delete an app before the jiggle in question, you had to touch the Organize apps option, which was not the most obvious solution. The second beta of iOS13.2 brings the obvious solution that should have been there from the start: an option to simply Delete the app. As for the option to rearrange apps, it becomes Edit the home screen. What is conceived well is clearly stated, as the other said.

Is iOS 13 stable or is it better to stay on iOS 12 for now? On XR.

@gardiolan
Yes it is stable. I am on XR developer version and no problems for me.

@gardiolan
Yes personally, stable on iPhone Xs Max.

I have an XR and for me it was a disaster! The first time since I have an iPhone that I had to downgrade! Afterwards, it may be a bad luck, but ios12 works much better at home 🙂

Gloops 😬

I got 8 full screen freezes in 15 days 😅 It's weird to end up with a brick where neither the screen nor the buttons respond... 😕

@romainB84
Ah yes anyway 😒

Afterwards, don't generalize, there are plenty of opinions from people with whom it's going well 🙂

A few jokes. I would wait for iOS 13.2

Okay 🙂

Possible to change video resolution directly in the photo app too!

Oh that's interesting! I didn't understand that they didn't offer this option before (although it was present in the androids I had). I'm waiting for my iPhone 11 to be delivered to try.

You can also delete an app in the app store. When you are on the updates page, if you swipe left, a "delete" tab appears!

And it would be very nice to add "uninstall app" instead of finding this option in "storage". It's super annoying to scroll through the list in order of size. We don't necessarily want to delete an app, but we would like to remove it while keeping the content and the icon to easily reinstall it FROM the app. I don't understand why the option still doesn't appear....

And what I would like is also the option that would keep the application but delete its content/cache. Apps like Facebook that grow over time just because they remember all the crap we've seen. reinstall. It sucks.

@TomS74
That's mostly the developer's fault... a lot of apps offer to clear the cache anyway.
Osei Tutu|
@shaba I can't find the option to clear app cache in ios settings. If there is a possibility? On the other hand on Android I access it by going to the settings

@Osei Tutu
There is no option in iOS, it is up to the developer to implement it in their app. Twitter or the Team offer it on the other hand. Afterwards, iOS is supposed to do it automatically it seems to me, but under what conditions? No idea !

@shabaThank you

Oh, that's an idea, it's a good one

Who has this problem: if you turn off your smartphone and restart it immediately, the sim pin code is not required. After putting the 6 digit phone code you go straight to the home screen? I reported this from beta 13.1 on 6s but it continues even on this beta. Thank you

@Osei Tutu
I had this behavior only in case of unexpected extinction. But not in case of voluntary extinction. 6s too.

@8enoit Thanks for the feedback.

It becomes too easy to delete an app. It's a gesture that one does not do every day. What is the benefit in terms of productivity? None, just like the “Reorganize Apps” command that was placed there. On the other hand, "uninstall" would have been wise.
Another problem: On an SE, the home screen “3D Touch” menu for the Settings app is rickety. Normally we have Cellular Data, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. On the SE nothing.
