Batteries contained in electronic devices represent a real risk for young children.Duracell is committed to prevention.
Lithium batteries can be found everywhere, and especially in children's toys: remote-controlled car, musical battery, doll that speaks ... Now, these batteries, are more and more miniaturized and can be ingested by children.They are also at the origin of more than 1,200 consultations at the hospital each year.
Bouton pile: what dangers?
Ingestion of a kitchen battery can lead to serious health problems: asphyxiation, burn of mucous membranes, lesions of the esophagus, stomach, perforation ... because contact with saliva and esophagus creates an electrical circuitburning.Any ingestion of a kitchen battery represents a pediatric emergency.
Ultra-resistant packaging
To limit any risk of ingestion of these batteries, Duracell has created a security pack.Each bouton battery is locked up separately in a plastic shell that it is impossible to open without scissors.A safety sticker is affixed to each battery.The latter helps reduce the surface exposed and sensitizes parents to the danger of the batteries.Duracell completes its safety plan with warnings on the risks incurred on its products, and by advice on use, installation, conservation and recycling on its website.
