App Store

The new Messages app in iOS 10 is jam-packed with new features. So much so that you can get lost very easily, and just use the basic functions. But that would be missing out on really fun little things like…stickers! However, once you have taken the hit, it is very easy to embellish your conversations with images of all kinds. Follow the leader !

Here you are in the presence of the panel of applications and sticker packs.

Once the pack has been downloaded (and why not our Pix mascot!), its icon will be present in the apps panel. Tap this icon, and bim: the collection of stickers appears, ready to use!

By touching a sticker, it snaps into the message window. Note that you can write an additional message before sending the image. You can also drag and drop a sticker into a conversation, for example to place it next to (or on top of!) a message.

Sticker packs and apps for Messages are also available in the classic App Store.

The number of new functions in Messages is amazing. I discover new ones every day!

C1rc3@0rc |

The new functions of Messages are de-li-rant-es. Otherwise, if I want to secure my communications by encrypting them with a system of which I am sure, how can I do it? Use only stickers instead of letters?

iOS 10: How to use the stickers of Messages? | iGeneration

Don't understand your question...iMessages are properly secured. What does this have to do with stickers?

Kounkountchek |

Excuse my question but is it only compatible with iPhones running iOS 10?

Mickaël Bazoge |

@Kounkountchek

No, correspondents on iOS 9 will also receive them!

Rez2a |

The best way to use them is to not use them. This is the worst thing that exists on iOS.

I bought the iGeneration package with the thumbnails from TomTom but the button to access it remains grayed out.

iPhone 6 and iOS 10.0.1

pepeye66 |

How do you stick it next to the text? For me, it always goes above the object and therefore the text is always below!;)

yocb54 |

@pepeye66: In fact it depends on the stickers there are some that you can't place where you want, otherwise you have to simply drag and drop to the desired location.

andr3 |

@myself

This only works if the caller is on iMessage as well.

:-(

Too bad the mario pack is chargeable.

Jack.Atreides |

@Jack.Atreides: Oh no I hadn't seen that it's so free for me

DouceProp |

So if I draw something, only friends on iPhone iOS 9 and 10 will receive it? It won't even make a gif for correspondents on Android?

patrick86 |

@DouceProp': The gifs are sent to everyone, including SMS. Stickers alone too, sent as pictures.

TonyT |

No, but what is this craze for Messages? The thing that makes you the most delirious about this iOS update is being able to buy and download stickers? I must be old fashioned I don't understand at all... Is that why you upgraded to iOS 10? If so, Apple has nothing to worry about for the future, they will add on iOS 11 the same thing on Mail, then on iOS 12 they will allow us to send small sounds during our audio calls! But what a revolution! It's not for lack of trying, huh, but no, I can't understand how we can buy this kind of stuff, it shouldn't be a crisis for everyone :)

patrick86 |

"Is that why you upgraded to iOS 10?"

Yup. Just to send Mario stickers. ?

EricdeB |

@TonyT: I'll never go buy stickers...I just find the evolution of this software impressive. In the end, I'll only play this with my kids and my wife.

macbook60 |

@TonyT: It's not that expensive

Bigdidou |

@TonyT: "It's not for lack of trying, huh, but no, I can't understand how we can buy this kind of stuff"

That's good, no one is asking you to figure it out, and you're totally free to go your own way and ignore them.

MrCrvsr |

Is there an additional cost for this kind of message (like MMS) or is it considered as a simple sms by the operators?

iDanny |

Who got the Citymapper for Messages app to work? I added it but it doesn't display anything other than its logo, nothing happens...

tchit |

Access is too tedious

Ken-de-barbie |

Everyone throws themselves on the i Message stickers from MacGé via the Kardashian, and Kevin Hart in terms of brand image I think we've seen better... I wait for Hanouna and Nabila stickers

Ken-de-barbie |

the worst is not that, it's the notifications on the home screen the slightest message that you display even on the locked screen, y fo to do them one by one one to make sure that the stupid message that a friend just sent you won't appear in front of everyone.

Teeto |

As much as the messenger gifs are fun and worth it, it could be nice in iMessages, as much the stickers as tonight on messenger, sms or other... never managed to use them

MSN messenger the return of bad taste

Bigdidou |

@en ballad: Ah, the eternal guardians of universal good taste, those who know what we can or cannot do are out, I see. Thank you for watching over us and our bad taste, but we will stay with and we will do without your expertise...

Lemmings |

This is at least the 15th post on Messages on iGen... Seriously? I mean... Seriously?

They are re-inventing MSN Messenger and IncrediMail from the heyday. We are far from the sober sold by Apple... :/

DouceProp |

Yeah good, once tried, good. How do you get this stuff out of text messages? It's not in Settings / Messages... And I can't find a new "Kawaï mega lol superflu" menu in Settings...
