Lab – Sony Xperia Pro-I: behind the marketing, the contrasting reality

1800€ for a "professional" 1" sensor (therefore a compact sensor which makes noise at 400iso), but in reality a 0.6" sensor.

Professionals (and other photo enthusiasts) are not about to let go of their hybrids or SLRs, with their aps-c or even full frame sensors.

Personally, I see it as a first-rate marketing bloat, only the fact of having slightly less digitally tweaked images is a positive point. Obviously, it would be necessary to be able to go out and compare these photos in raw, in other words, in raw sensor, without imposed post-processing.

And the same goes for the pompous Leica, Zeiss and company type logos, which absolutely do not mean that the optical formula has been worked on by the brands in question. I'm always surprised that these practices still exist when, in terms of image, it's still not glorious.

Quite frankly, I doubt it. There are hybrids that do a much better job than any smartphone, with a lower price, while keeping the possibility of choosing the optics. And also see that a vlogger (who seeks to make a taf a minimum qualitative) will also have a good microphone, ect. Quality today (sound and image) is no longer a luxury, it's a necessity, because the public has become accustomed to certain standards.

So - from my point of view - unless it's for Jean-Kevin, 14, who wants to present his collector's gadget or thingy figures, buy a smartphone (especially at this price) to make pictures, c is total nonsense.
