Together If there is one thing that has always united us at AD, across countries, borders and time zones, it is our inextinguishable curiosity for culture and art in all its forms. This perpetual exploration of design, architecture, successful combinations of materials in the right proportions, in keeping with the spirit of the times, all driven by the same spirit of discovery: this is what drives us all , at AD, to push the doors of houses around the world, and this, for more than a century - the first American edition of our magazine dates from 1920! Here is what makes us vibrate, especially in these times marked by drastic changes that do not spare our work. In this perspective, it is all the more exciting to persevere in this desire for discovery and, for the first time in AD's history, to do so within a team that is growing beyond national borders. and cultural, thus encouraging us to work together. The Austrian journalist and playwright Egon Friedell (1878-1938) wrote: “ Culture is a mine of problems, and an era is all the more enlightened as it raises enigmas. I find that this sentence sums up our world well, in which there remains, despite everything, an infinite place for diversity and the multiplicity of voices, and with them so many cultural enigmas which refuse to be solved by too simple answers. These voices can still surprise, challenge or enchant us, even after millennia of cultural history. At AD, our focus has always been on the very individual expression of creativity in a country, a city, an apartment, from the sole artistic gesture. Everything starts with a concrete place, in a particular person, then ends up radiating throughout the world, and nothing will change in this respect, quite the contrary. I am delighted to be able to further refine this vision by presenting in the following pages many creative minds from Europe. I especially thank them, as well as all the people behind this issue of AD. Together, zusammen, insieme, conjunto, ensemble: this is the key word of our mission.
