Nutri-Score is campaigning for better consumer information

The Nutri-Score, a use that can still progress

The market share of brands committed to the Nutri-Score approach has steadily increased since 2018, to reach 50% of sales volumes in 2020 1 . According to the latest study conducted by Public Health France in 2020 2 , 53% of respondents believe that they have been impacted by the Nutri-Score in their purchasing behavior. More specifically, he urged:

“Nutri-Score enjoys excellent notoriety and its presence in stores is growing strongly. The number of brands bearing the logo is increasing and it is beginning to appear in company restaurants. Nevertheless, its appropriation by the population can still progress and we wish to create a real reflex of use. This is why we are today launching a campaign aimed at answering the most frequently asked questions and providing a reminder of how to use the Nutri-Score,” comments Anne-Juliette Serry, head of the Diet and Physical Activities unit at Santé public France.

A campaign to improve the understanding and use of Nutri-Score

In order for the Nutri-Score to fully play its role, Public Health France is today launching a new educational campaign in the form of videos and an information brochure. These tools provide answers to frequently asked questions and more broadly provide the keys to easily integrate the Nutri-Score into your daily life.

The campaign consists of a digital device, aimed at 18-49 year olds, comprising 4 30-second videos broadcast on social networks (Youtube, Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat): a video "How to eat better in a snap eye ? »reminding how to use the Nutri-Score when shopping and 3 videos around questions frequently asked by consumers:

The medical establishments will also broadcast the educational video recalling how to use the Nutri-Score on the screens of the waiting rooms as well as the brochure.

In addition, the campaign includes a digital display component in hypermarkets, supermarkets and convenience stores throughout the national territory to invite consumers to use the Nutri-Score at the time of purchase.

The brochure and the videos will be available on the mangerbouger.fr website. As a reminder, this site created by Public Health France, offers many tools and information allowing everyone to better understand and integrate the recommendations of the National Nurition Health Plan.
