Qobuz lowers its prices: Studio Premier subscription increases to 14.99 €/ month
The cost-free integration of lossless into Apple Music forces competition to react. Qubuz, which has made sound quality its trademark, has just lowered the prices of its subscriptions. The Studio Premier offer, which includes 24-Bit flac streaming up to 192 kHz, increases from €19.99 to €14.99 / month without commitment. With a one-year commitment, the same subscription increases from €14.99 (total €179) to €12.50 / month (€149).
The Studio Sublime offer, which also includes preferential rates on purchases in Hi-RES, increases from €249 to €199 / year. The difference is not negligible. Family subscriptions, which allow the service to be used on up to six accounts, are also falling: Studio Premier Family increases from €34.99 to €24.99 / month without obligation and Studio Sublime Family from €499 to €349 / year.
Existing subscribers began to be informed by email that the price of their subscription would fall on their next renewal. The French service also gives you the possibility to take advantage of the new price now: "you can now take back a subscription Studio Premier for 12 months at the new price. A pro-rata discount of your current subscription will be applied to your shopping cart. "
Apple Music remains cheaper (€9.99 per individual subscription or €14.99 for the family), but Qubuz argues for new editorial content (album chronicles, feature articles and interviews) and support for apps and material that could interest music lovers. However, Apple will soon attack Qobuz on a new front, that of classical music, with the acquisition of the specialty service Primephonic.
