Who is Spigen?

Created in 2008, the Spigen brand moved to the United States in 2013 to pursue its international development. The name Spigen is an association of two German words: spiegel (mirror in German) and gen (gene, in German). The two terms combined are intended to highlight the main value of the brand, namely: to reflect the needs of consumers.

The company now has nearly 12 years of experience in total. A longevity that allows it to devote itself to research and development in order to offer new protection technologies.

Spigen has become known over the years as a reliable and aesthetic case brand. This ability has positioned Spigen as a leading smartphone accessories brand. Apple noticed this, and notably chose Spigen as a partner in the accessories sector when it presented the iPhone 8 and iPhone X in 2017.

Spigen was one of the partner accessory brands for the iPhone 8 and X.

The following year, Spigen revived the design of the famous iMac G3 by drawing inspiration from it to create an iPhone X case. This case caused a lot of talk when it was announced, so much so that the fundraising campaign participatory collected a total of 236,000 euros, for 4,511 euros expected. The success was so great that Spigen even declined these cases for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

What are Spigen's main protection technologies?

To offer very solid cases, Spigen had to develop its own technologies and materials. First of all, you should know that Spigen's hulls pass the shock resistance tests of the American army's MIL-STD-810G standard. Namely 26 falls from 1.2 meters on concrete and at least once on each part of the hull. To achieve this result, Spigen has developed two technologies.

The Spider Web Pattern

The first is called Spider Web, and is noticeable when you look inside a Spigen Liquid Air case. These cases are the most resistant of the Spigen range, in particular thanks to the pattern found inside them. The thermoplastic used takes up the pattern of a spider's web – hence its name – to better diffuse and therefore absorb shocks.

Air cushion technology

The Air Cushion is the second technology used by Spigen for its cases. To better resist falls, each corner of the Spigen protective cases is equipped with a small air cushion. During a fall, it will expand to absorb the shock so that the smartphone comes out unscathed. A simple but effective technology.

The Air Cushion is found in each corner of the Spigen cases.

Protect your Samsung Galaxy S20

The release of the Samsung Galaxy S20 is imminent. Samsung's latest flagships feature advanced technologies, and this is reflected in the prices, which are higher than those of the Galaxy S10 when they were released. Protecting your Samsung Galaxy S20 is therefore essential. Spigen's shells are already ready. We recommend the two flagship models of the brand.

Let's start with the Tough Armor, one of Spigen's toughest cases. With it, your Samsung Galaxy S20 won't risk much if it falls. It is equipped with the Air Cushion technology presented above, but also with a small crutch at the back which allows the telephone to be placed horizontally. Very practical for watching series on the train.

Spigen's other flagship case is called Ultra Hybrid. It is lighter and thinner than Tough Armor, but still very strong. The advantage is that it will leave the design of the Galaxy S20 visible to everyone, because it is transparent. And Spigen assures it: it will not yellow over time.

The Ultra Hybrid hull is more discreet.

These two covers also protect the screen of the phone. The protection extends far beyond the front, which prevents the screen from shattering if the phone is dropped flat on a flat surface. Finally, Spigen cases are compatible with wireless charging, regardless of the degree of protection.

The Spigen Accessories Catalog

Since its creation in 2013, the Spigen brand has had time to create other products that are not just simple covers for smartphones. On Spigen's official Amazon store, there are car smartphone holders, wireless chargers, 3-in-1 USB cables, and more.
