Star Citizen turns nine - Roberts Space Industries, Cloud Imperium Games - News - Factornews
NEWSby CBL,email@CBL_FactorOn October 10, Star Citizen celebrated 9 years since the game was announced during GDC 2012. This anniversary was celebrated during the annual telethon, CitizenCon. Like every year, RSI/CIG presented things to come. We saw a lot of people talking but we didn't see much gameplay. Here's a quick recap of what was shown: Gameplay wasn't the only big thing missing from CitizenCon. Squadron 42, the single player mode, wasn't even mentioned. Theaters Of War, the multiplayer mode inspired by Battlefield and announced at the end of 2019 was also absent. But above all RSI/CIG has not announced any date for anything. The official roadmap still stops in the second quarter of 2022 and the announced features are not even guaranteed ("tentative"). But Chris Roberts pulled out the 'It's Covid's fault' excuse so it's all good. Star Citizen is approaching $400 million in donations and RSI/CIG now has 720 developers.Share on TwitterShare on FacebookShare on Google+Share on Pinterest Roberts Space Industries Star Citizen Squadron 42 Cloud Imperium Games
