The Chevreuse valley is mobilizing against the noise of motorcycles
Too much passage and too much noise on the winding roads of Yvelines
Sound radars, revision of motorcycle motorogues, reductions in gear limitations
In France, we are lucky to have magnificent roads to cross on motorbikes. But if some regions are very well subtitled in this area, there are many territories where the topography means that the tortuous and hilly axes are limited.
This is the case in Ile-de-France where there is a high concentration of motorized two-wheelers.Inevitably, the few places where we can chain turns attract a lot of motorcycles as soon as he returned to sunny days.Among this, the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse holds a place of choice for the outings of Ile -de -France bikers with these famous 17 turns.
But it has now been several years since the residents and elected representatives of the valley complain about this convergence of motorcycles on the small roads of the Yvelines, in particular because of the noise generated by silencers not always in conformity or by too frank accelerations that are screamingengines.
Faced with this situation, the mayors of eleven municipalities in the Chevreuse valley called the residents to come and support them to make their dissatisfaction heard with the main concerned.Last weekend, around sixty people gathered in Vaux-de-Cernay by deploying an unequivocal banner on which was written "Halte with noise pollution".
Related by Le Parisien, the words of elected officials and residents are understandable since surveys in Saint-Lambert report an average volume of 90 to 110 decibels, when about 500 motorcycles pass in two hours on the side of Dampière.Some fear that this situation will get worse and that a resident will make "stupidity" if nothing is done.
The mayors hope to be able to install Medusa sound radars to verbalize offenders, but the procedure is still in experimentation. While tests have already been carried out in Saint-Forget, Saint-Lambert and Senlisse, an experiment is still on hold.
Other avenues are also envisaged, certain elected officials wanting to take advantage of the presidency of France to the Council of the European Union from next January to change the law enforcement, in particular by reducing power and volume.Another hypothesis addressed, more concrete and simpler to set up, would be the implementation of road arrangements and the reduction of speed limitations to 50 or 70 km/h depending on the axes.
In the meantime, the Chevreuse valley counts on the presence of the gendarmerie to carry out sound checks on weekends during large-scale operations.
One more reason to abandon all non -approved exhausts so as not to hinder anyone and be able to continue driving everywhere.
