Update 4 Assassin's Creed Valhalla: get ready to redownload the whole game with update 1.4.1!
While its Oskoreia Festival will finally end tomorrow after a good week off, Assassin's Creed Valhalla is more present than ever in the news. Indeed, a rumor has it that he will be entitled to additional DLC this month. Who says new content supposes the diffusion of an update of the game and we knew that the 1.4.1 was about to arrive. Well, Ubisoft has just confirmed that it's scheduled for next week, with no further details on when, but that should be Tuesday not to change.
While the publisher hasn't said a word about its content, we know that this patch will serve to achieve faster loading times and better performance across all platforms. On the other hand, to get there, you will have to redownload the entire base game, a small blow if you do not have fiber. Good news, the files have seen their size reduced at the same time, so that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will only weigh between 39 and 77 GB depending on your platform.
With a Year 2 of content in sight, this is clearly a good move by Ubisoft, allowing its community to keep the game in a corner over time without taking up too much space.
Update: Ubisoft gave some details about what's new in this 1.4.1 patch. It will now be possible to modify our game experience in the menus, whether it is stealth (detection time to flee, duration of the search by the guards, number of enemies in pursuit), combat (counter window, dodging window and Cheat Death duration) and exploration (disabling synchronization points and Odin's vision, unguided objectives). More details, in particular on the durations, can be found in English here.
Update 2: We now have confirmation that Patch 1.4.1 will be released this Tuesday, December 14, along with the return of the Yule Festival on Thursday 16 for three weeks. It remains to be seen if there will be anything new in terms of content. And, yes, a free weekend on Assassin's Creed Odyssey is planned for the end of next week and it may not be so innocent...
Update 3: the changelog is available in English, so in addition to the new features already mentioned, the Crossover Stories content in collaboration with Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
Update 4: Due to a bug (that we encountered), the Yule Festival may not activate. Ubisoft will not offer a solution before the beginning of January due to the end of year celebrations and will therefore postpone the end of the event taking this into account.
If you still haven't given in to the call of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, it's sold for €39.99 on PS5 at Amazon.
