What are cheap wireless headphones worth? The response of 60 million consumers
To play sports, listen to music or even make calls with your hands free, avoid wires that get tangled up all the time... Wireless headphones are extremely practical in everyday life. Their main drawback, besides the fact that they are easy to misplace when you're in the air, is their price. Count a good hundred euros to acquire a pair of good brand (and good quality). If you still want to try the entry-level experience or headphones at very low prices, discover the opinion of 60 million consumers after a series of tests carried out on a dozen devices.
What are cheap headphones worth?
The results of the tests (sound, insulation, Bluetooth equipment, box, etc.) place certain models and less expensive brands in a good position in the ranking. In fifth place, for example, we find LG's Tone Free HBS-FN4, which cost 100 euros. The magazine awarded them the very honorable score of 14.5/20 due to a good sound performance, a correct autonomy and a very good acoustic level. They were considered the best in terms of value for money. They are closely followed by Huawei's FreeBuds 4i which, for the same price, were awarded a score of 13.5/20, with a special mention for their autonomy which is the best in the ranking, with 9 hours and 58 minutes without charge. Other lower-priced headphones also feature in the ranking, such as Sony's WF-XB700 (80 euros), JBL's Free II (100 euros) and Xiaomi's Mi True Wireless Earphones 2S. Regarding the models at any (very) low price: the magazine is absolutely not convinced. He criticizes a rather poor sound quality on the iHip side sold at 7.95 euros at Action. As for Lidl's Silvercrest wireless headphones (24.99 euros), which had already been described as "cheap… but bad" by UFC Que Choisir, they were pilloried by 60 Million for difficult-to-use features and poor sound reproduction. Both are not recommended by the magazine.
The most expensive headphones are the best performers
Unsurprisingly, despite an attractive design that could make you believe that a low-cost model equals a high-end device, the low prices disappoint. The top of the 60 Million ranking is occupied by the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, with the excellent score of 17.5/20. Sold at a price of 280 euros, these wireless headphones have very good audio quality, great passive isolation from ambient noise, as well as a quite respectable autonomy of 7 hours and 24 minutes. Their main weak points lie in the absence of documentation to help with the use of the device, in the weight of the headphones (18.70 g) and in the size of the case which is a little big to fit in the pocket of the device. 'trousers. In addition to Bose, Apple, Marshall and the German Sennheiser, with their headphones sold at more than 300 euros each, have the best audio qualities. Even if they lose points on other technical aspects such as autonomy, microphone quality and the lack of volume management. In short, despite some disparities, on the whole, performance clearly has a price... and the latter may hurt your wallet a little.
