In aeroville near Roissy airport next to Paris, Auchan has opened a 3D printing center.It is a space and a service dedicated to 3D printing.Several solutions are available to you since you can choose the object to print in a catalog or come with your personal file (still you have to master 3D software).

This involves discovering this new printing method via simple objects.Thus the catalog offers objects such as cups, bracelets, figurines or even abstract complex forms.The printing price is defined according to the weight of the final object.Naturally the more an object is heavy, the more plastic you have used to create it.Thus prices vary from € 4.99 to 77 grams at € 29.99 for an object of 464 grams maximum.Beyond, Auchan will make you a personalized quote.

To print the brand uses the Makerbot Replicator 2 printer.Big downside to print a 3D object with this machine will take between 20 minutes and 20 hours…

Top office

The Top office brand was one of the first to offer the printing of 3D object of its choice in a physical store.This is the case in the Villeneuve d'Ascq and Tours store.As with Auchan, it is the CKAB company, manufacturer of the Makerbot Replicator 2 which provides the service.

The post office

The post office continues to want to diversify and also offers a 3D printing service similar to others.Thus three post offices allow you to print 3D objects from a catalog or your imagination.These are the offices of Boulogne-Billancourt, Hôtel-de-Ville de Paris-Bonne-Nouvelle and Paris La Boétie.The service goes a little further since it is possible to print voluminous and complex objects thanks to a partnership with an external service provider called Sculpteo.The distributor indicates that it will cost you 30 euros for a phone case.

This life -size test will last 6 months.If conclusive, the service will be extended to other French post offices.
